No matter how many books I read on business, I always come back to Pete Thiel’s Zero to One. It peels back the layers of what makes a successful business without sugarcoating the difficulty of it. This quote lives in my head:
Customers won’t care about any particular technology unless it solves a particular problem in a superior way. And if you can’t monopolize a unique solution for a small market, you’ll be stuck with vicious competition.
Peter Thiel
Everyday I ask myself, “How do I find my tiny monopoly?” Or as Alex Hormozi would say my “puddle”. There are thousands if not millions of tiny markets. Which one is yours?
Best,
Sam
